"Volunteers Helping Neighbors in Need."

Our History

Prompted out of concern to address the needs of older adults and others in the greater Fairmont, MN area, a group of local clergy, congregational members and human service providers began meeting in June 1997 to explore forming a volunteer caregiver project. In 2003, we began developing care teams throughout Martin County and the surrounding areas.

Our Goals

  • To provide non-professional volunteer assistance to individuals whose life circumstances leave them with physical and/or social needs, enabling them to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • To facilitate appropriate care arrangements for those in need by working with family, friends and congregational caregivers.
  • To assist care receivers and caregivers by making referrals to other existing support networks when appropriate.
  • To provide education, support and recognition to people who serve as volunteers.
